My heart yearns to show the youth who have no home, who have been suffering in a vicious cycle of hurt, pain, disappointment and failure what the unconditional love of God is.
The verses that run through my head when I look upon these youth are:
For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me…I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me! (Matt 25:35,36,40)
Youth for Christ has offered me the opportunity to join with them which will allow me work full-time with the street youth in Victoria. These youth are looking for true friends who are willing to take the time for them and be their advocate in life.
My ministry is to be this friend and make Jesus visible in the midst of their depression and anguish, giving them a hope for a better tomorrow. They are all searching for that “something” in life and have come up short, but we know that they are really just searching for their Daddy.
